Integrity Scholarship for High School Student Athletes

The legacy of Michael Ray Lee lives on through a scholarship designed to honor Mike's commitments, interests, and heart for student athletics. Mike lived his life under the ideals of dedication to a strong work ethic in both academics and athletics; being positive, friendly and welcoming to others; and most importantly, the personal quality of integrity. This is the trait the family has chosen as the focus for the scholarship that bears his name.

Michael (April 28, 1992-December 22, 2020), was educated in Greeley’s WCSD #6 and the Colorado School of Mines in Petroleum Engineering. Along with his commitment to a strenuous academic schedule, Mike pursued his passion for golf at both the high school and collegiate levels, becoming a distinguished amateur golfer, earning many titles and recognitions.

This is the title

A graduating senior from a Weld County District 6 school or the surrounding area

This is the title

Pursuing a 4 year degree at an accredited college or university, or a 2-year college with the intent to complete at a 4-year institution

Accepted into a collegiate athletic program

Completed application, supplemental additions, and essay

Scholarship Details

Two $5,000 scholarships will be awarded.

One $2,500 scholarship will be awarded.

Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the college or university.

Application Process

1. Complete the following application. Applications will be accepted starting February of 2024.

2. Write an essay (500 words) using this prompt: Michael was a man of integrity and it showed in his everyday life. Who in your life shows integrity and how has that inspired you to have the same impact on someone else?

3. Submit a copy of your transcript.

4. Submit two letters of recommendation, preferably from a teacher, coach, employer, etc.

5. Application, essay, and submissions are due by March 31, 2024 to

6. Scholarship recipients and their parents will be honored guests at the 4th Michael Ray Lee Memorial Golf Tournament banquet, held at the Aims Welcome Center, on June 3rd, 2024.
